Biography of Presenter:

Nury Castillo Crawford, a distinguished lead education consultant with over 25 years of experience, is passionate about fostering inclusive, culturally rich learning environments. She is a recognized voice in the field, committed to community involvement, parental engagement, and celebrating diverse cultures. Nury has shared her expertise on a national stage, serving as a keynote speaker and presenter at prestigious conferences, inspiring educators, administrators, and policymakers to embrace inclusive practices. As an author, she has written professional genre books that provide practical insights and strategies for creating equitable and culturally responsive classrooms. Nury is also a passionate advocate for celebrating diverse communities through literature, authoring books that empower readers to appreciate our multicultural world. With a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida A&M University, years of hands-on experience as a school principal, district-level leader, and consultant, she is a thought leader in the field. Nury believes in the transformative power of education and envisions schools as vibrant hubs of learning, where diverse communities enrich the educational experience. As a lead education consultant, she inspires and guides educators towards creating classrooms and schools that reflect our society's mosaic, with a commitment to a future where all students, families, and communities thrive, regardless of their background or identity.

This workshop ALSO counts for step advancement in Clark and most Nevada School Districts! & In CCSD, those in non-administrative licensed positions may count this workshop for license

renewal AND ALSO CU accrual - THOSE IN NON-ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS EARN BOTH!

In CCSD, administrators and professional-technical administrators may count this workshop for license renewal OR hour accrual toward step-advancement - not both for administrators.

CCSD licensed employees should be aware that professional development activities must be related to the educator/licensed professional’s assignment. CCSD teachers with any questions or concerns should reach out to the PGS Department at pgs@nv.ccsd.net

Washoe County participants will be required to also register for this course in "MyPGS" in order to receive in-service credit toward salary advancement.
