Workshop Description:

Motivating students is one of the major challenges teachers face on a daily basis.

After several months of remote learning combined with the competing demands of screen time and technology, our students are struggling to stay connected to their learning and our teachers feel frustrated with their lack of focus and engagement.

A Gallup survey shows that less than half of our students feel engaged in school.

We can help students feel the drive and motivation to engage, learn, work effectively, and achieve their potential at school, but we have to do things a bit differently. Learning simple techniques to increase their interest and enjoyment of school makes a big difference.

Teachers play a critical role in the motivation and engagement of their students.

Student engagement and motivation: Impact on learning and behavior

Everyone feels frustrated right now, but understanding how to re-engage students requires first understanding the definition of student engagement, the benefits, and the different types of engagement.
