Workshop Description

Understand the principles of good decision making and how to lead your team in any environment.

We will break down and discuss the importance of this statement: “I will make the best decision possible, given what I know at that very moment, and I will continue to seek information to improve my decision-making abilities.” We will reduce the fear of not making decisions, based on a chance of making a wrong decision, and equip all participants with the tools to have confidence in making all decisions.

We will determine the balances to which we create and consider when making impactful decisions, such as Structured but Human and Forthright but Professional, and practice our though process and decision-making abilities within situational experiences. All participants will acquire an ability to use their balances to ensure they are functioning as communicators, de escalators, and peacekeepers in the best interest of ensuring the focus remains on student learning, teaching and positive student outcomes.

We will reflect on the Growth Mind approach to decision making, learning, and improving strategies from day to day, week to week, and year to year and discuss how we can help students see the importance of short term sacrifice for long term gain. All participants will identify areas of improvement for themselves, their school, and their students, along with developing short term and long-term goals to reach the desired outcomes in the classroom, school and for students' academic growth toward their career dreams. Participants will also be equipped with facing resistance and managing conversations within the phrase: “people with their differences can also be right.”

All participants will be provided with various topics, engage in learning discussion rooms, and obtain information for improving their strategies, decision making abilities, relationship building, and positive behavior to create unforgettable moments, while raising staff effectiveness, closing achievement gaps, and raising student achievement.
