Workshop Description

Students are more successful when families, communities and schools work together.

We will seek all methods of communication from the school to students, staff, parents, and community members. Once we determine all effective communication methods, we will engage in detailed planning and operating of these methods to effectively establish two-way communication so that a positive school, parent, teacher relationship is formed and so that students then benefit academically and behaviorially. What type of information are we sharing? When do we share this information? What is the return investment for sharing this information?

We will determine how to plan events that include current members of the school, alumnus from the school and the community members that support both current and past members of the school. During this process we will analyze how to increase community involvement at the school, along with filling vacancies and accumulating needed items for school improvement and to increase students' academic achievement.

We will focus on the planning and facilitating of a parent university event and how to build momentum, attendance, and participation throughout the school year. I will facilitate a review of studies that determine the success of a school and its students based on the parent involvement at the school and the parent involvement outside of the school. All parents want to be more involved and more supportive for their children, and the school must be there to enhance this process to ensure optimal student success.

All participants will be provided with various topics, engage in learning discussion rooms, and obtain information for improving their strategies, decision making abilities, relationship building, and positive behavior to create unforgettable moments, while raising staff effectiveness and raising student achievement.
