Workshop Description:

Build a positive school climate. All educators work to become proactive interventionists, who build strong relationships with students and serve as de-escalators, communicators, and peacekeepers.

We will share the reasons staff members and students enjoy thinking about their school experience, the reasons they are excited to return to campus each day, and how do we maximize appreciation, positive behavior, and creating unforgettable experiences to maximize student learning. Thoughts lead to emotions and emotions lead to feelings. We must have a positive impact on the way our staff and students feel about their school so that students embrace positve learning enviroments.

We will review and plan the steps to build a positive school climate and culture through Positive Behavior, Interventions, and Systems, while including the influence of students, staff, parents, and community members. We will take a journey together from the initial year of implementation, methods of executing a system of change, and data collected on discipline that will lead the way to fine tuning a long-term structure for our Positive Behavior, Interventions, and Systems.

We will learn and analyze the importance of building and maintaining powerful Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), while supporting this process with Response to Interventions (RTI).  The knowledge and strategies we develop in our data tracking abilities will determine the most effective interventions that we implement. The goals we will establish together include reducing inappropriate behavior, building positive relationships, minimizing the time students are removed from the classroom and maximizing student social and academic success.

All participants will be provided with various topics, engage in learning discussion rooms, and obtain information for improving their strategies, decision making abilities, relationship building, and positive behavior to create unforgettable moments, while raising staff effectiveness, closing achievement gaps, and raising student achievement.

ALL are welcome, including anyone in a non-administrative position! NASA IS NOT A UNION. NASA is Nevada's PreK-12 Professional Development Organization for ALL Nevada Educators!
