Workshop Description

Learn to develop and implement strategies that secure a campus in the 21st century. Reduce risk, improve response, and keep everyone safe.

We will develop and implement strategies that secure a campus and a classroom in the 21st century to ensure all students and stakeholders are feel safe and secure so that learning can be optimized and concentration on learning focused. This learning process will involve comparing past to current safety measures on campuses and classrooms, identifying the improvements that were implemented and why these methods are safer for students, staff, parents, and community members.

We will mentally inspect our campuses and classrooms to address all safety concerns and develop a plan to improve, and/or completely correct. Every student deserves a safe place to learn, and every teacher deserves a safe place to teach. How do we initiate discussions with our stakeholders to collectively have a safe campus and a safe community. A school is as safe as its community and a community is as safe as its school.

We will analyze the direct alignment between students and staff that feel safe and the positive impact this feeling has on increasing teacher effectiveness and student achievement. We will examine the various staff roles that focus on physical safety, mental safety, and emotional safety, along with determining if our campus and classrooms are  maximizing its resources to serve as proactive leaders, instead of solely relying on responsive techniques.

All participants will be provided with various topics, engage in learning discussion rooms, and obtain information for improving their strategies, decision making abilities, relationship building, and positive behavior to create unforgettable moments, while raising staff effectiveness, closing achievement gaps, and raising student achievement.
