WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Participants will take away and know how to create a classroom management plan which will help maintain appropriate behavior of students in a classroom setting. When using classroom management strategies, learned in this session the results will encourage prosocial behavior and help support academic engagement.

Earn .5 credit (that's 7.5 hours) toward license renewal

and ALSO 2.5 CUs in CCSD for non-administrators

Salary Advancement in Clark, Washoe and most NV Counties (see details below)

Washoe County participants will be required to also register for this course in "MyPGS" in order to receive in-service credit toward salary advancement.

Dr. Thomas Glanton, Jr. has more than 25 years of experience in public school education. Thomas began his career as a high school English Teacher in 1993 in the public-school sector. By the age of 30, he was selected to serve as a High School Principal and Elementary Assistant Principal in the DeKalb County School District as well as the Atlanta Public School System. Thomas, an Atlanta native, is a graduate of the University of Georgia and member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He is active in various civic organizations and has committed his life to serving others. More importantly, he is determined to encourage professionalism, creativity, and academic freedom. His past conferences have been at SREB, TASSP, Southeastern Regional School District MA, San Diego School District California, Cheyenne High School, Las Vegas, Confederation of Oregon School Administrators, and Box Elder SD MT, to name a few.

Dr. Thomas Glanton understands that in order for learning to take place, schools must have discipline and order. As a former high school principal in an urban district in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Glanton continues to focus on the art of school leadership in operations, instructional leadership, data analysis, and school performance. Through direct experience with the comprehensive discipline management program, Dr. Glanton transformed a Title One School and was named a Georgia PTA Principal of the Year. Now, as the President of The Education Company, concentrates his efforts in tough inner-city schools and has amazing results with all students. In 2022, Dr. Glanton was named the Principal of the Year for the DeKalb County School District, the fourth largest school district in the state of Georgia.
