WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

In our current day and age, social-emotional learning (SEL) practices, resources, and outlets must be provided to all stakeholders throughout education and prioritized as the foundation in creating successful learners. The foundation of this is developing a culture of connectivity and care across an entire school community touching each and every one of their stakeholders in an equitable way.

In this workshop held over 3-evenings, participants will be introduced to overall mental health and wellness practices for the education community presented by experts from Belouga and #SameHere, and educators and influential figures throughout the state of Nevada. The workshop will provide participants with sound practices, a global library of resources to implement within their own schools and districts, along with creating statewide SEL personal learning communities.

Belouga will provide participants with a digital library of professional learning SEL resources, compiled of interactive collaborative content across all grade levels and subject areas, each connected to statewide standards and restorative practice that prioritize well being and individual perspectives. Participants will then have the opportunity to interact with the resources that best fit their own personal and classroom goals. Classroom SEL resources on Belouga will also be provided to workshop participants, connecting the workshop teachings to student based learning experiences that can be implemented across all grade levels and subject areas.

After many failed treatment modalities, he was lucky enough to learn healing practices that enabled him to dig out of his abyss, and found a higher calling, launching a non-profit at the end of 2017 called, We’re All a Little “Crazy,” The Global Mental Health Alliance. The Alliance is composed of athletes and celebrities, along with media members, expert practitioners, advocates, and everyday heroes who’ve come together to make talking about mental health a common topic for “5 out of 5” of us. Their #SameHere Movement has swept across K-12 schools, college campuses in the US from Cornell to USC, K-12’s, Corporate Offices from CNBC to JP Morgan Chase, and Professional Sports Teams in just over two years.
