About the Event

"Data-Driven Decisions Workshop: Essential Lessons for Student Success"

Workshop Description:

How do we know if our students learning?

If we want to close the gaps in achievement, then teachers need actionable information to plan their teaching and reteaching for students.

With increasing accountability, using data to inform instructional practices is more important than ever. Most educators, however, did not enter the profession because they wanted to be statisticians or number crunchers. The data collection and analysis process can be daunting, particularly when it comes from the top down.

It is critical to involve administrators, teachers, and students in the process of determining what data can be regularly collected inside and outside of the classroom, and how the information gleaned from an analysis of that data can be successfully used to increase positive outcomes for students, teachers, and schools.

It's time to empower teachers to achieve significant gains in student achievement.

Define data and best practices.

Define the different types of data used in classrooms to determine what's working and what's not. Then actions can be taken by teachers to deliver instruction that meets their students' needs and help them grow.

Increase school effectiveness and school improvement.

The data in your schools provide important clues about teacher instruction and student performance. Learn how to analyze current data collection practices and determine both strengths and areas for growth.

Understand how to balance and achieve districtwide goals using data to improve student achievement.

Data helps district and school leaders create a strong blueprint with measurable results for continuously improving schools so decisions are no longer based on incomplete or biased information.

Create a sustainable plan for data collection.

Learners will utilize best practices for data-driven instruction to create a sustainable plan for data collection in their schools and/or districts.

In this virtual live workshop you and your staff will learn:

Analyze current data collection practices

We'll look at current data practices and determine the strengths of each one and areas for growth.

Utilize best practices for data-driven instruction

We'll show you how to use best practice data-driven instruction to create a sustainable plan for data collection.

Use our Resource Library to access all the tools for data

We'll step you through our Data-Driven Resources that provide you with templates, action plans, and collection tools to simply the process.
