Workshop Description
NASA's 2022 Employee Discipline Workshop will cover everything you need to know to address employee misconduct, especially by public employees. The workshop will review all constitutional and statutory provisions that pertain to employee discipline, and teach you how to conduct a disciplinary investigation, decide upon the appropriate level of discipline, and defend your decision in arbitration. You will be provided with a step-by-step process that will ensure you comply with all legal requirements and make legally sound decisions. This workshop is open to anyone who wishes to participate and learn.

8:00 - 8:30 AM - Welcome & Review of the Day's Objectives
8:30 - 9:30 AM - Legal Issues Involved in Employee Discipline
9:30 - 10:30 AM - Discipline Statutes, Case Law, and Rules
10:30 - 11:30 AM - Collective Bargaining Discipline Provisions
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM - Lunch
12:00 - 2:00 PM - Conducting a Legally Sufficient Disciplinary Investigation
2:00 -2:30 PM - Determining the Appropriate Level of Discipline
2:30 - 3:00 PM - Writing a Legally Persuasive Disciplinary Document
3:30 - 4:00 PM - Q&A’s and Closing
Earn .5 credit (that's 7.5 hours) toward license renewal 2.5 CUs in CCSD & Salary Advancement in Clark & most NV Counties.
ALL are welcome, including anyone in a non-administrative position! NASA IS NOT A UNION. NASA is Nevada's PreK-12 Professional Development Organization for ALL Nevada Educators!

In CCSD, administrators and professional-technical administrators may count this workshop for license renewal OR hour accrual toward step-advancement - not both for administrators. (maximum of 30 hours per year for administrators in this category)!
