Workshop Summary:
Traditional teaching methods leave students bored and unable to engage with their content in a way that makes sense to how their brains work and interact with content. In the Flipped Model, students learn to thrive and explore in a way that is informed by their interests, student data, and innovative instructional research that is relevant to your content and keeps students engaged.
Strobel Education’s Flipped Classroom workshop puts the tools, resources, and strategies in your hands so you can confidently implement this model immediately.
Conventional teaching approaches often result in student boredom and a disconnect from content that fails to align with their cognitive processes. All PreK-12 participants will help with strategies to engage students in discovering how to excel and explore based on their interests, student data, and cutting-edge instructional research pertinent to the content, ensuring sustained engagement. Every educator who works with students strives to support their comprehension of the content, the purpose behind learning it, and the criteria for gauging successful understanding. Participants will learn to develop tasks that deliberately engage the full spectrum of students' cognitive abilities and skills, such as peer instruction, group discussions, and various interactive learning scenarios. Students have the chance to apply course concepts to practical problem-solving and decision-making activities creating "buy-in" and helping to close the gap in academic achievement.
