An international inspirational speaker and educator for over three decades. Donna Hartley is a former Miss Hawaii and television actress, who worked with Robin Williams and Dick Van Dyke. Donna has shared her compelling story on NBC, ABC, PBS, and The New York Times. A renowned expert on inner leadership and surviving life altering events. Her story is captivating, entertaining, dramatic. Cry, laugh, and learn from her powerful message.

Donna is a member of the National Speakers Association, Screen Actors Guild, Nonfiction Writers Association, and owner of Hartley International. In addition, she is the author of Fire Up Your Life!, Fire Up Your Intuition!, Fire Up Your Healing! and the Healing Meditation Downloads. She has published six stories in the Chocolate for a Women's Soul series and two in the Chicken Soup series.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This is a transformative workshop designed to empower all PreK - 12 educators and students of all ages with inner leadership skills. This interactive session will cover critical areas such as attitude adjustment, vision mapping, effective communication, and life balance.  We will help educators engage in continuous professional learning activities aimed at improving their personal and interpersonal skills which support strong teaching strategies as well as foster collaboration among colleagues to promote student achievement. This commitment reflects their dedication to ongoing growth and excellence in education.  We will work to understand why the corporate and the business world is relying on meditation and intuition and understand why it is beneficial to make these skills available to your students. GOALS

1. Develop Self-Talk: Empower participants to understand the power of self-talk in shaping their attitudes towards teaching and learning.
2. Vision Mapping: Guide participants in creating vision maps to visualize how their subject matter connects with their personal values and goals.
3. Inspiring Innovation: Encourage innovative thinking in education through the lens of personal leadership and empowerment.
4. Attitude Adjustment :Understanding the Importance of a positive attitude with strategies for cultivating a growth mindset.
5. Speak Up to be Heard: Techniques for effective communication while building confidence to voice ideas.
6. Understanding Life Balance: Incorporating life balance in lesson plans and curriculum with time management techniques and prioritizing and scheduling.
7. Beyond the Classroom: Promoting healthy habits like exercise, nutrition, and rest while encouraging social and emotional learning (SEL) and also building relationships and managing emotions.
8. The Power Of Inner Leadership: Develop the ability to lead oneself with a strong sense of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and personal integrity. It involves guiding your actions and decisions based on inner values and principles rather than external pressures or influences.

All participants earn license renewal credit by taking this event!

Washoe County participants may receive salary advancement- please look in MyPGS 1-2 weeks after NASA posts this offering to see if inservice credits are offered.

If so, Washoe County School District (WCSD) participants are required to register in MyPGS and submit an artifact (which will be specified) on how they will implement this professional learning to increase student achievement before a certificate is issued.
