Workshop Description:

Each of my many points starts with a powerful story of me and my unicycle. I will help you build real and tangible stories to break through to ALL audiences. I talk about how we all face this challenge in education and back it up with credible research. I go over strategies on how to fix this and give real-world examples of how this is used/can be used in real life to ultimately engage students, ensure parent and team support.

Key Takeaways & Outcomes:

A teacher's work ethic plays a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of student achievement and progress. By establishing a quality work ethic through effective goal setting and deliberate practice, educators set the stage for a culture of excellence in the classroom and schools for their students that help bridge any of the learning gaps they struggle

with. All PreK-12 participants will be able to refine their commitment to delivering high- quality instruction and ensuring that no aspect of a student's learning experience is overlooked while building relationships and engaging students and their families. By the end of this workshop, all participants will have strategies that model a strong work ethic that inspire students to mirror these values, ultimately leading to enhanced academic outcomes and personal growth.

Key Objectives/Agenda:

Establish a quality work ethic through effective goal setting and deliberate practice that has positive impact for ALL students. Harness the power of focusing on small details that make a big difference in the achievement for ALL kids.

Create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment forALL stakeholders and students so they believe in themselves and one another.

Tangible Outcomes:

I share multiple practical strategies that can be immediately implemented in the classroom. A few include team building activities such as the group juggle and using body percussion to make it rain. Everyone will receive a SMART goal and FIRE template to set quality goals along with a sure FIRE plan to reach them. (I juggle my torches to get them FIRED up) An example of an academic strategy is teaching multiplication facts in an effective, order...1's, 2's, 5's, 10's; Then 3's, 4's, 9's; Finally, 6's. 7's, 8's. All will receive a free copy of this curriculum. One more example is using WHOLE BRAIN learning - right brain/left brain. I will share examples of writing a definition on the left side of the paper and a visual on the right. All will receive an e-copy of my book, How to Talk Math with my permission to reproduce as needed. My speech will motivate/inspire. Make them laugh. Make them cry. Give them hop and practical strategies.
