Kelly Dolan-Sapp

National Director of Practice for EduSolve

Kelly Dolan-Sapp is the National Director of Practice for EduSolve, with an impressive track record of developing state standards for Social Emotional Learning (SEL). She expertly manages a substantial client portfolio, supporting 25 school district partners in wellness, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and cultural policy and practice. With over 20 years of experience in the field, Kelly is a nationally recognized SEL Coach and Staff Developer. Her previous role at the School District of Palm Beach County involved collaborating with the Wallace Foundation and CASEL on a pivotal 4-year project aimed at implementing SEL across major urban school districts. Kelly's career began as a founding member of High Tech Middle Media Arts within the High Tech High community of schools. A seasoned presenter, she has shared her insights on national and international platforms, with her latest presentation at the international SEL Exchange. Workshop Description:

Discover the dynamic fusion of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in this comprehensive workshop. Delve into the synergistic relationship between MTSS and SEL frameworks, exploring how their integration can revolutionize student support systems. With a sharp focus on improving academic achievement, behavior, and social-emotional outcomes, this workshop equips all PreK-12 educators with the tools to cultivate a thriving school environment for all learners.

Desired Outcomes:

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the MTSS and SEL frameworks and their complementary nature and how it relates to supporting student academic achievement.
  • Acquire strategies to seamlessly integrate SEL practices into each tier of MTSS, fostering holistic student development and it’s relationship to closing the achievement gap.
  • Develop proficiency in assessing students' social-emotional competencies and leveraging data to drive decision-making within the MTSS framework.
  • Cultivate collaboration among educators, families, and community partners to create a supportive ecosystem for students' well-being.
  • Identify actionable methods for sustaining and expanding MTSS and SEL initiatives to maximize impact across the school community.

Whether you are new to the profession, a seasoned classroom leader or serving all students of your school or district in an administrative capacity, this workshop offers invaluable insights and practical strategies for driving school improvement through integrated MTSS and SEL approaches.

ALL are welcome, including anyone in a non-administrative position!

Participants will earn .5 credit (7.5 hours) toward license renewal!

This workshop ALSO counts for step advancement in Clark, Washoe and most Nevada School Districts!

In CCSD, those in non-administrative licensed positions may count this workshop for license renewal AND ALSO 2.5 CUs - THOSE IN NON-ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS EARN BOTH!

In CCSD, administrators and professional-technical administrators may count this workshop for license renewal OR 2.5 hours toward step-advancement - not both for administrators.

Washoe County participants will be required to also register for this course in "MyPGS" in order to receive in-service credit toward salary advancement.

Washoe County School District (WCSD) participants are required to submit a 300-word essay on how they will implement this professional learning to increase student achievement before a certificate is issued.
