Due to Washoe County School District (WCSD) salary advancement requirements, WCSD participants will be asked to submit a brief written summation of how this professional learning event will transfer learning into practice before a certificate is issued. Workshop Description:

This training session, led by an expert with experience in over 50 district-wide AI in Education trainings, is designed for Nevada educators to leverage AI tools in their teaching. Participants will learn how to use free AI technologies to enhance educational strategies, manage time more effectively (which will mean more time with family and friends!), create deeper connections with students, and combat teacher burnout. This practical, hands-on experience offers educators the skills to improve their professional and personal lives, making teaching more efficient and fulfilling so that student improvement

can occur for ALL students!

At the workshop’s end, all Pre-K- 12 participants will acquire immediately applicable skills in using AI to assist in fostering more meaningful interactions with students as well as utilize AI-generated insights to comprehend and address their individual learning needs so that student achievement can improve and student achievement gaps can close. As all educators work to tackle the discrepancy in academic results, workshop attendees will be able to cultivate approaches linking recent knowledge to previous learning and supporting strategies for learners to participate in metacognitive exercises to enhance comprehension through the use of AI.

Biography of Presenter:

As the founder of Gruvy Education, I've had the privilege of collaborating with over 100 schools nationwide, providing comprehensive AI training and delivering keynotes to educators and staff. These efforts are aimed at equipping educators with the knowledge to effectively use AI tools and preparing our educational system for a future where AI tools are exponentially better than what we are seeing today. This initiative is about making learning more relevant in the 21st century and ensuring our students are ready for the advancements the next decade will bring.

Currently pursuing an accelerated master's degree in computer science at North Dakota State University, I am focused on making a significant contribution to the fields of education and artificial intelligence. My academic and professional journey is driven by a strong desire to meaningfully impact how AI is integrated into education, preparing both educators and students for a future shaped by technological advancement.

renewal AND ALSO CU accrual - THOSE IN NON-ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS EARN BOTH!

In CCSD, administrators and professional-technical administrators may count this workshop for license renewal OR hour accrual toward step-advancement - not both for administrators.

Washoe County participants will be required to also register for this course in "MyPGS" in order to receive in-service credit toward salary advancement.
