Workshop Description
This course will provide an extensive overview of the Tier I instructional materials and resources for mathematics instruction in the District. Experts from the Curriculum and Instruction Division will provide strategies and teaching tools to optimize the use of current mathematics Tier I instructional materials. Participants will explore high-quality instructional materials and learn how to leverage the materials to support all students. Educators will leave the session with teaching strategies and resources that can be implemented in the classroom immediately following the session.

BIOGRAPHIES:
Judith Milligan
Mathematics Coordinator IV, Curriculum and Instruction Division
Clark County School District
Judith Milligan has worked in the Clark County School District (CCSD) for over 20 years and currently serves as a secondary mathematics coordinator. Initially, Ms. Milligan explored employment opportunities in the private sector of Las Vegas, Nevada, after earning her Bachelor of Arts from the College of New Jersey. During this time, her passion for education led her to return to school earning a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and an administrative endorsement. Ms. Milligan has served as a high school mathematics educator, Advanced Placement educator, mathematics department chair, secondary mathematics project facilitator, Advanced Placement project facilitator, and coordinator for the CCSD Assessment Department prior to assuming her present role. Through each opportunity, she has provided professional learning and shared her passion for mathematics education. Ms. Milligan currently serves as the Southern Nevada regional representative for the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics.
Rebecca Dehner-Williams
Mathematics Coordinator IV, Curriculum and Instruction Division
Clark County School District
Rebecca (Beckie) Dehner-Williams moved to Las Vegas at a young age and is a graduate of the Clark County School District. She attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she received a Bachelors of Science, a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Masters in Urban Educational Leadership. Beckie currently serves as an Elementary Mathematics Coordinator for the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, she supports administrators, schools, and teachers in understanding and delivering effective and engaging mathematics instruction to impact student achievement for all students. Prior to becoming an Elementary Mathematics Coordinator, Beckie served as an elementary teacher, mathematics strategist, mathematics project facilitator, and a site-based administrator. Her greatest educational learning experiences have come from learning with the students, teachers, and co-workers she has worked alongside in nearly three decades of education.
