PARTICIPANTS EARN:
- The required three (3) credits (that's 45 hours) to satisfy the Multicultural Education Requirement.
- AND ALSO 24 CUs in CCSD for non-administrators.
- Each credit earned at a Nevada University counts for 8 CUs per credit!
- Participants will receive a college transcript via CSN and, which equates to 24 CU's within the CCSD PGP System
- Salary advancement hours/credits that count in Clark and most Nevada Counties.
- A transcript from The College of Southern Nevada after the course's completion.
MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS
Your instructors are outstanding educators – Dr. Greta Peay, and Tiffany Young - both of whom have served in multiple positions in their service to diversity, equity, inclusion, and advocating for students, and their families (their biographies are below). Collectively, Dr. Peay and Ms. Young have nearly 70 years of professional experience and knowledge in regard to this most critical topic.

This course will satisfy the Multicultural Education licensure renewal requirement in NRS.391.0347 and Regulation 130-18.
NRS.391.0347 requires any licensed teacher who is initially licensed on or after July 1, 2019, except for a teacher who is licensed only as a substitute, must submit with his or her first application for renewal of his or her license to teach proof of the completion of a course in multicultural education. If a licensed teacher is initially issued a nonrenewable license, he or she must submit such proof with his or her first application for a renewable license to teach. Even if this is not a specific requirement you need for your license, this awesome course is an inexpensive class available for to enhance your knowledge about The Culturally Responsive Journey.
This engaging and informative course will assist you with the following:
- Increase awareness and understanding of the various identities of diversity.
- Assess your capacity of cultural competency and enhance your culturally responsiveness capacity.
In partnership with the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), NASA is offering an affordable virtual Multicultural Education Course for the required three (3) credits (that's 45 hours, to qualify for credit, participants must complete 15 hours of contact time per credit hour). Not only is this course fully approved by CSN, but also the Nevada Department of Education.
