Workshop Description

Learn everything you need to know about Nevada’s mandatory educator evaluation system, with a deep dive into the Teacher Instructional Practice and Professional Responsibilities Standards and Indicators. All PreK-12 participants will gain a better comprehension of processes, such as, adjustments included in the NEPF for the implementation and required percentages of students' achievement data for the Student Outcomes portions.

Understanding that the overall purpose of Nevada’s Educator Performance Framework is to identify effective instruction and leadership, and to establish criteria to determine the following as it connects to student growth:

  • whether educators are helping students meet achievement targets and performance expectations (supports goals 1 & 4);
  • whether educators are effectively engaging families (supports goals 1 & 2);
  • whether educators are collaborating effectively (supports goals 1, 2, & 3);
  • the professional development needs of educators (supports goals 1, 2, 3 & 4);
  • information on which to base human capital decisions including rewards and consequences (supports goal 3); and
  • whether educators are using data to inform decision making (supports goals 1, 2 & 4). (SOURCE: https://doe.nv.gov/offices/office-of-educator-development-and-support/nepf)

Building a strong comprehension of the teaching and learning standards will ensure that all participants know how to deliver and/or supervise highly effective instruction so that you can improve student achievement and student engagement at ideal levels.
