Washoe County participants will be required to also register for this course in "MyPGS" in order to receive in-service credit toward salary advancement.

Olivia Odileke loves making Ed Tech and teaching easier for teachers. Her personal mission is to transform virtual education one teacher at a time. For over 10 years she has worked as an educator. She serves as a national Training Specialist for Stride. She has personally trained over 7,000 teachers and continues to seek ways to innovate education. She is a Certified Trainer for Nearpod and has served as an HMH Regional Math Consultant. She also has written over 30 published lessons for Cpalms.org, Nearpod, and Pearson. She holds an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology. She is the author of A Beginner’s Guide to Nearpod: A Tool for Transforming Virtual Teaching in K12 which is available on Audible and Amazon. All her experience has led her to become an expert in virtual education and the tech tools educators can use to accelerate student learning and curiosity.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Nearpod makes teaching easier with interactive tools, resources, and content teachers need, all in one place. Help your students navigate learning by turning multiple clicks into one with Nearpod! Spark student engagement by merging formative assessment and dynamic media for collaborative learning experiences. Learn step by step how to access and edit pre-made lessons, how to take a paper lesson and digitize it, practice launching a lesson, and learn how to access and read lesson reports for improving student achievement. Leave the session ready to immediately apply the Nearpod tool in your classroom. Highly recommended to bring a paper-based lesson so that it can be converted into a Nearpod lesson. Need to have a Nearpod account set up prior to the workshop. All participants will be required to create a mini-lesson in Nearpod during the 90-minute lunch break to receive credit for the workshop. Educators need a laptop or desktop to complete this workshop as a phone or tablet will not allow you to complete the required learning activities.
