Due to Washoe County School District (WCSD) salary advancement requirements, WCSD participants will be asked to submit a brief written summation of how this professional learning event will transfer learning into practice before a certificate is issued. Workshop Description:
This workshop aims to equip ALL educators and educational leaders with the knowledge, skills, and tools to navigate chaos, understand trauma's impact, and foster resilience in themselves, their teams and workplaces. Participants will leave with a comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed leadership, psychological health & safety and a personalized action plan / framework for creating positive change within their organizations and even within their grade levels, departments, and school-wide teams.
Key Takeaways & Outcomes:
Coming out of a worldwide pandemic and school closures has only exacerbated the many daily challenges that our schools and PreK-12 educators face. As we all work to close those gaps and loss of learning, while working to ensure delivery of lessons that are engaging and with tasks that are purposeful, this workshop will help all educators to create learning environments that are safe and foster empathy and understanding yet still help students achieve those learning goals that will help them succeed in life. As educators exemplify and promote fair and equitable treatment, participants will gain resilience and grit building strategies that are applicable for both personal, classroom and team-based practices; thereby, leading to improved achievement outcomes for ALL students.

Biography of Presenter:
Treena has provided psychological health & safety consultations, workplace culture assessments and restorations across North America. She possesses a deep level of insight into how environmental contexts influence the workplace culture and a person's mental health and wellbeing. Treena's personal and professional history include having growing up with parents and extended families who were teachers, and later on working in schools, with high-risk youth, families and those who developmental disabilities.
Participants will earn .5 credit (7.5 hours) toward license renewal!
This workshop ALSO counts for step advancement in Clark and most Nevada School Districts! & In CCSD, those in non-administrative licensed positions may count this workshop for license
renewal AND ALSO CU accrual - THOSE IN NON-ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS EARN BOTH!
In CCSD, administrators and professional-technical administrators may count this workshop for license renewal OR hour accrual toward step-advancement - not both for administrators.
Washoe County participants will be required to also register for this course in "MyPGS" in order to receive in-service credit toward salary advancement.
