WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) aims to enhance teaching and learning for everyone by setting clear rigorous goals, anticipating barriers, and proactively designing to minimize those barriers. UDL is integrated into various federal K-12 and higher education policies and serves as the basis for inclusive, identity-affirming education. By aligning with UDL principles, educators can increase student access and agency, fostering greater engagement and improving outcomes. Join this workshop ready to collaborate and fully participate. By the end of the session, all participants will have developed a UDL-aligned action or lesson plan and gained numerous resources to help implement UDL across educational settings.
OUTCOMES
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Understand the K-12 and higher education federal policies that support UDL.
- Explain how UDL provides the foundation for student inclusion, engagement, and improved outcomes.
- Identify and utilize helpful UDL resources that support the district-adopted curriculum and Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS).
- Create a UDL-aligned action or lesson plan aimed at improving student outcomes.
