ALL EDUCATORS WELCOME!
Earn .5 credit (that's 7.5 hours) toward license renewal and ALSO 2.5 CUs in CCSD for non-administrators
Salary Advancement in Clark, Washoe and most NV Counties (see details below)
Washoe County participants will be required to also register for this course in "MyPGS" in order to receive in-service credit toward salary advancement.
Kristin Barson
School Counselor
Kristin has 26 years of school counseling experience in the Clark County School District (CCSD) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her experience in CCSD has provided her a K-12 school counseling perspective, as she has had the opportunity to work at the high school, middle school, and elementary levels and currently works in the district CCSD School Counseling Department. Kristin is an ASCA Certified Trainer, ASCA RAMP Team Captain, a member of the ASCA Position Statement Committee and ASCA Certification Committee. She served as the 2018-2019 President of the Nevada School Counselor Association (NvSCA) and was awarded the 2012 NvSCA Elementary Counselor of the Year.

Today's school counselors are vital members of the educational team. They help all students in academic achievement, career development and social/emotional development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.

School counseling programs are collaborative efforts benefiting students, parents, teachers, administrators and the overall community. Programs are based on schoolwide data and support and complement the overall academic mission of the school and the district. Learn how school counseling programs can be an integral part of students' daily educational environment and school counselors can be partners in student achievement.
